THE BURLY Q BABIES The Burly Q Babies are a large burlesque troupe with a mix of novice and veteran performers. Take your time to get to know all the lovely ladies of the burly-q!  An ever-changing, always growing student ensemble created in March 2008 from Miss Frankly Scarlet’s School of Burlesque. They are a diverse cabaret burlesque troupe, including performers of a wide range of ages, backgrounds, body types and lifestyles! Made up of dancers, actors, musicians and more they have a little something for everyone. The Burly Q Babies perform regularly at various shows, charity events and their very own Burly Q Babies productions.  Pepper Noir - A little spicy but widely loved  Coming from a lifetime background of Advanced Jazz dance, ballet and hip hop, Pepper Noir has developed a taste for Burlesque. Inspiration for Pepper Noir's performances come from icons like Brigette Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, Madonna and our very own Frankly Scarlet Each performance Pepper offers up another side of her multi-faceted character allowing her audience to see into her world. Pepper Noir, forever yours. MISS KITTY FANTASTICO - The Cats Meow and then some.  Miss Kitty is an eclectic little fire cracker who always has a spring in her step. But don't let her doe eyes fool you, this little kitten has some serious claws. Me-ow. GAMINE LUXURIA - Giving playful a whole new meaning. (on the right)  Sicily Steel - Wild and classy, it's possiable!  Sicily Steel is new to the Burlesque seen, but no stranger. Sicily has always felt to be born in the wrong era, and has always had big Burlesque dreams. She feels the stage is her home, and nothing makes her feel more at home than sharing the stage with her fellow BQB. Maya Midori A bust here, booty there and maybe even her underwear! (on the left) Maya Midori is sweet as can be and has a penchant for pink. But don't let her honeyed smile fool you, you'll be seeing the rosy side of things when you watch her. |
MISS FRANKLY SCARLET (Troupe leader and instructor) Bringing warm southern hospitality to cold northern nights.  HONEY FURY  "I spend my time covered in glitter, wearing beautiful costumes, and having the audience hang on my every movement all the while being surrounded by gorgeous, half naked women. What's not to love?" Sticky, sweet and full of fire, Honey Fury is one baby you don't want to mess with (unless you are into that). Described as one part vegas showgirl, one part bond girl, one part pin-up and one part wide-eyed innocent, Honey lives to remind the audience of what they cannot have. Her solo performances vary just as much as her moods and range from traditional to sultry to high energy to downright silly. She incorporates a variety of props including (but not limited to) boas, fans, chairs, hula hoops and even bananas and screwdrivers. Honey has been drawn to burlesque since she first learned of the Pussycat Dolls of the Viper Room when she was 17 years old and her obsession grew from there. When she first learned of the classes that were being offered by the Headline Honeys in the winter of 2008, she jumped on the chance and has been performing with the Burly Q Babies ever since and has over 30 performances under her garter belt. Over the years, Honey has completed various workshops and classes in burlesque, chair dancing, bellydance, hula hooping, hip hop and ballroom dancing. Burlesque isn't Honey's first time being in the public eye, however. She has always loved performing since being a cheerleader in highschool and since then has made appearances in various fashion shows, plays, dance concerts and even music videos. Someday she hopes to hit the stage of the Slipper Room in New York City, but until then, she is more than happy to be performing in Sin City, NL. PAPILLON - "watch the transformation "  Papillon is no stranger to performing. Shaped and molded by many forms of dance the most recent being belly dance. You are sure to be delighted if you come out to a BQB show and watch the transformation for yourself. Delta Dawn - Hurry down sweet daddy, come blowin' your horn. If you come too late, sweet mama will be gone.  Like the smooth flowing waters of the Mississippi, Delta Dawn keeps you drifting and dreaming with her unmistakable curves and sultry voice. You'll be singing the blues too when you have to say goodbye. Bettie Blue: Coy, Cute and Corseted  The beautiful miss Bettie Blue began dancing with The Burly Q Babies in 2009. Inspired by the potent mix of art, sex, and confidence embodied in the burlesque style, along with the performances of the Babies, she began lessons, and the delightfully naughty Bettie Blue was born. Bettie is coy, she's vintage, and she's got a beautiful bum. Bettie is also petite and sweet, but that sweetness can be deceptive: she has been known to grab audiences by the collar and whip them into a frenzy at whim. Though Bettie has left St. John's to pursue other things, a part of her heart is on stage with The BQB each and every time they perform. A burlesque beauty to the core, Bettie Blue keeps every-single-last-piece of her costumes so that when she's in town, she can slip into her shoes, pull her corset tight, and hit the stage to sweeten your night.
